Take a small scratch sheet of paper out. (You may contest in your mind and say, “No, I have my phone, or can keep this in my mind”, but please do as instructed. It helps to see these items on paper, and to write them yourself. C’mon, work with me. This will work for you.)
Being honest and raw with yourself, write down the top 5 things you think about throughout the day. If you’re stuck, go through an average day in your mind and think about what’s most likely to be on your mind in the morning or evening, at work or at home. Even if you’re embarrassed with yourself, write it down. Now read these 2 verses:
“May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be acceptable in your presence, Yahweh, my Rock and Redeemer.” (Psalms 19:14)
“And you are to love Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart, all your mind, and all your soul. These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart.” (Deuteronomy 6: 5-6)
Now look at your list again. What does it make you think or feel in relation to the above verses? Are you proud of your progress, or in need of changing the things on the list or the order that they are in?
